A chance to cook some food in Connemara.
Working alongside the ethos of this contemporary art screening with influence from the landscape. I created a small offering to go alongside the short films. Hot drinks. Gorse cakes, Pickled seaweed that was handpicked in the days leading up to the event, big bowls of broth with vegetables from local farms, roasted barley tea that smells like country roads in winter or Dublin 8 ( the result of the Guinness brewery)
I brought a Kombuscha from Dublin and thought about the reaction that it had to the bumpy beautiful drive. Fermented drinks are heavily influenced by there surroundings. I wondered if the kombuscha felt the cleaner air too.
The Location a industrial space on the edge of the Innagh Valley is a breeding place for tropical coral and fish, as well as a place that seaweed is investigated. We displayed seaweed behind our temporary serving space.
Thanks to Fiona, Barry & Rose who helped pick seaweed and serve broths
